"Dreams do come true.."

Howdy y’all !

Guess what? I’m updating this blog ! Yaay for me! (:

Okay, so Imma just start off with October 1st. We had an appointment with our international Coordinator, Jack, in Bricktown to go out to eat and walk around in town for a little bit. When my host mom and I were the first ones – so we spent the first 15 minutes waiting. Finally Jack arrived and we went inside of the restaurant to meet up with a Norwegian girl – she was an exchange student in Oklahoma last year and came back to visit – her boyfriend and host parents. Later on Emma and her new host family joined us, too, and we all had to wait more than an hour until we finally got a table.

I had an awesome time talking with everybody and the food was reaaally good (: & the best thing was you were able to draw onto the table ! Look what I drew:

 Bahah!

Afterwards we all walked around in town and stopped by a couple of places like a painted bull, a fountain in front of a movie theatre, a memorial of how Oklahoma was captured and last but not least we just followed the path by the canal. All of the lights in Bricktown are stunning; it’s such a beautiful and romantic city. Here are some of the pictures I took that evening:

Next thing is: I joined French & Drama club! Yaay! Our first Drama club meeting was awesome; we split in groups and just played games. But I got to meet so many cool people (which I’d partly already known before) and I simply had a great time.
I haven’t been to a French club meeting yet – but there will be a picnick on November 7th – which is actually my birthday – and I’m really lookin’ forward to it! Additionally, we all will meet on Tuesday, October 25th for “Haunt The Halls”. It’s an event where costumed kids come into our school for trick and treat and we spread candy – also in costumes, of course. Excited !!

Okay, the next thing is.. THE SUGARLAND CONCERT ON OCTOBER 8th. OH MY GOODNESS; UNBELIEVABLE.
! Caution: this recount will be looong ! :D

Alright. So the Monday before the concert I got the e-mail concerning where and when we have to meet (Because I’d bought a VIP package ticket – including a ticket in the sugarpit, a shirt, the preshow party, the soundcheck and a MEET & GREET – or, so I thought.) Anyways, I’d saved money over months to buy this ticket because this would be the one and only chance to ever see Sugarland – my favorite band EVER. (they don’t come to Europe and their tour is just about to end) And because I knew it was worth it, because of the meet & greet (that’s the only reason I’d bought the VIP thing). Anyways, I read the e-mail and it said “this show does NOT include a meet & greet.” Bam. And so my dream exploded. Really? Oo I was DEVASTATED; seriously. When I’d ordered the ticket I know it said “Meet & greet included” but apparently it referred to an even more expensive ticket. VERY misleading; this did not just happen to me apparently.
However; after a couple of days I came to the conclusion that I had to live with it and just make the best out of it. So I got everything prepared & ready on Friday night so I wouldn’t have to do it on Saturday morning. I finished up Jennifer’s & Kristian’s presents (YES; I’d already bought them PRESENTS & wrote a LETTER; but they said I could hand them to the host and she would give it to them.) and made a sign that said “Jennifer, my biggest dream is a hug from you” on the one side and the other side I used for the Little Miss Project.
On Saturday morning Kim & I left early in the morning – at around 10 o’clock – to pick up Kacy from work. Having done so, we drove to Wichita for about 4 hours – listening to Sugarland, what else.
The closer we got to Kansas the worse the weather got; it was pouring. I hate rain !!
Luckily we found the Intrust Bank Arena pretty quickly and it didn’t take me too long to get to Box Office One, where we all would meet.
I was the first one but shortly after my arrival other people started coming, too. Everyone was really nice & it’s always nice to get to know new sugarcubes !
When everybody was there we were handed an envelope with our tickets etc. and thenw e went into our lobby where we could eat, sit and leave our stuff. It was great talking to everybody – especially since some people at my table were from Texas & liked Kelly Clarkson haha!
Having sat there for approximately 40 minutes, we could finally go to the soundcheck. Everyone found their sats (we took the seats in the front row; it wasn’t too close to the stage though, because the sugarpit was between the seats and the stage.) Everybody sat down except for me and another awesome girl – we just knew we would have to dance and sing along to the songs. Then, totally humble, Jennifer & Kristian joined the band on stage and started singing random songs – they made a “pop quiz” out of it, haha! – to warm up their voices. Jennifer looked BEAUTIFUL like always and Kristian was so much fun. Of course we were heavily “woo-ing” and applauding. When they starts singing one old song of theirs, they suddenly forgot the lyrics to it, haha. They asked us, the audience, if we remembered and apparently I was the only one who remembered so a friend pointed at me and was like “She remembers!” And Jennifer went like “Alright, then come up here!” hahaha! Of course I couldn’t, sadly, lol. :D
After the soundcheck we went back into the lobby and sat there for a while. They did a lottery thing but I didn’t win anything unfortunately. About one hour before we could go into the concert room we were able to shop a little bit in the Sugarland shop and I bought the Tourbook, which I completely fell in love with. LOOVE it !
Then I gave all of my stuff away – except for my camera & my phone, of course – and we went into the hall – omg, I was excited ! I knew exactly where I wanted to stand: in the middle/a little bit left, right in front of Jen’s mic. And that’s where I placed myself immediately. Then I looked next to me and immediately found some amaaazing girls to talk with – Randa, Jennifer and Keri. YOU ARE AWESOME; GUYS !
We had so much fun and they promised to support my “hug request” from the first second on. I’m so glad I met y’all & I hope we’ll be able to meet up sometime before I leave!
At about 7:45pm Sara Bareilles got on stage to perform. She was the opening act and since I got her 2 albums I knew every song she performed – and she was really awesome; great voice!
When she left the stage there were still a couple of minutes left until Sugarland would get up there, but those minutes passed quickly. And then it started – the lights went out, it was dark, you could watch Jennifer & Kristian get into their spots and then a guitar started playing. OH MY, I screamed as loud as I possibly could.
Especially when they sang “Stuck Like Glue” I screamed extra loud & thought of my best friends like I’d promised them earlier.
During one of the first songs Kristian placed right in front of me and I jumped, screamed and reached my hand out to him (I actually intended to get a guitarpick). But then, suddenly, he reached out his hand, too, and shook my hand!!! And I was just like ‘:OOOOOOOOO’ and taking & shaking his hand, too! He is like the sweetest  & nicest guy ever, it was amazing!
But.. just one or two songs afterwards, when Jennifer started talking in between two songs (before “All I Wanna Do”), I held my sign up and screamed; my ladies behind me screamed loudly, too. All of a sudden, Jennifer stops talking and reads my sign out aloud “Jennifer, my biggest dream is a hug.. well Lord have mercy, dreams come true in Sugarland !” I couldn’t even realize her words or what was just happening, I just let my sign drop, gave Keri my camera and reached out my arms – my host mom & sister said they showed me on the big screens and my face was just like hugely shocked – I must’ve looked like a fool, I’m sure. Then she bent down, knelt down (OMG JENNIFER NETTLES KNELT DOWN FOR ME!) and ACTUALLY HUGGED ME ! OMGGGG eökgweöfjhgwrgbwev ! I was just like IS THIS HAPPENINGGG?! Then she let go of the hug, leaned back (Still kneeling) and said “My pleasure! Thanks for coming!” and finally got up on her feet again. I didn’t perceive what was going on on stage the seconds after that anymore, I just turned around the the ladies, screaming “OMG JENNIFER NETTLES JUST HUGGED ME” and having a hard time NOT to cry, seriously. I almost cried. And hardly ever cry because of happiness. Just did it once before.
Anyways, after this event my excitement was at its top level and I couldn’t help but just and scream at my best. “Ain’t no party like a Sugarland party ‘cause a Sugarland party don’t stop nooo” . Just sayin’.
Every song was amaa-za-zing  - Little Miss was touching, seeing all the signs in the air, “Stay” was breathtaking as always (and I got such a good video of it; gotta love my camera!) and “Stand Up” was gorgeous. Pluuus, I LOVED the ending song, when they covered “Come On Eileen” with Sara Bareilles, lo-lo-loved it!
Here are some pictures & last but not least a video where you can see Jennifer Nettles HUGGING me !

When the concert ended (saddest moment!) Jennifer, Keri, Randa & I went out, Randa presented me her Sugarland glow stick (Thanksss again!) and I eventually met up with Kim & Kacy. They were also super excited for me! We decided to go to iHop to eat something and then we drove to the hotel which was just 5 minutes far from the Arena.
The hotel was quite nice – except that we didn’T have power the next day for some reason – and at 11 o’clock the next morning we already left to drive back. Before leaving Kansas we stopped by Walmart, Big W (??) etc to shop a little bit, though. There are so many cute Halloween things around. Oh, and btw, I’m addicted to “candy corn.” It’s a sweet Halloween candy and it’s just awesome, especially if you eat it with peanuts.
Last but not least, we had a field trip last Friday October 14th – all of the Seniors that are in English 4 (I believe) went to MacBeth. I had so much fun and I got to know some awesome people – Victoria, I had a blast with you! And the play was really good, too.

Victoria & I

After the trip Meme picked me up from school (Thaaanks, Meme!) and we went to Chick-fil-A (a fast food restaurant here which is AMAAAZING. (: ).

I predominately spent the weekend studying since we had our nine weeks tests the on Monday & Tuesday. Everything went pretty good, but American Studies was really hard. I made 100% in Algebra!! Woo! And I think I was the only one (or one of the only ones). I didn’t think it would go that well!

Currently we are in Colorado visiting my host brother and his family – excited ! The trip was 11 freakin’  hours, though. Having my iPod, my new Castle book & my laptop (and Kacy with me in the back, haha!) the hours somehow passed.

Kacy & I were eating Dum-Dums while driving haha!

Will write more when we get back from Colorado! Oh, in case you’re wondering – it’s fall break from Wednesday Oct. 19th to Sunday Oct. 23rd, I’m not ditching school, haha!

Oh, and by the way – Kelly Clarkson’s new album “Stronger” will be released next Monday (Oct. 24th) and IT’S GONNA BE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AMAZING/GOOD/EPIC/PURE QUALITY. You should really go buy it! (:

Okay, my fingers are kinda tired now so I’m just gonna stop. I wanna end this blog entry with a special shout-out to my mom – she surprised me with a Kelly Clarkson autograph in an envelope since I won’t be able to go to her show in Nürnberg Nov. 3rd (obviously lol) and it was an amazing surprise, I was really happy!

THANKS mom, you’re the best!

Have a great day everyone!
Love y’all & take care!

Anja xoxo

P.S. Comments here, on facebook or anywhere else are ALWAYS appreciated! (:& btw, guys, I wrote this while riding in the car (11 hour drive, remember?), so please don't mind any mistakes.

Go Lions !

Aloha!

I know, I know – it’s been aages since I updated this, and I am utterly sorry. (I am convinced this is how I start off all of my entries. Sorry, kids.)

Anyhow, I’ve been really busy but I’ve also experienced so much during the last weeks, so I’ll just try to summarize all of my adventures to keep y’all updated, at least for a little bit.

On Friday, September 2nd some friends of me went to Moore war – it’s a yearly football game where our school’s football team (the Lions) play against West Moore’s Team. I’d been excited the whole day – this would be my first football game EVER ! When we got there it was really HOT and especially CROWDED. But we still got a pretty good spot. The game was awesome – even though I did not get everything what was going on, haha. Again: new to football! Please have regards. My friends and I left after the 3rd quarter of the game – our team was about to lose and we didn’t wanna leave when the mass of other people would leave, either.

So Shelby, Aubrey, their boyfriends and I went to Nick’s and spend some time in his swimming pool and hot tub which was absolutely fun!

Here is a picture of the five of us at the football game:

That’s the stadium:

After the game:

On Sunday September 4th Kylie, Leah (my host cousins), Emma (the other exchange student that used to live with Meme) and I had a slumber party at Meme’s. We went to target to buy food, went out for dinner, had a blast singing “this is why I’m hot” in the car and several German and Norwegian songs in the kitchen & dancing like a fool to it, eating self-made cinnamon rolls and cupcakes and watching “Something Borrowed” together. When Leah, Kylie and I were about to go to sleep in our room Meme tried to scare us with a doll’s head which was indeed kinda scary, haha.

Meme trying to scare us.

Kylie, Leah & me

Additionally, we went to church with Leah on Wednesday and I was totally impressed! I had a great time and when Leah sang with her band I almost started crying because it was so beautiful. Awesome job, girl!

But later that week I had to stay home from school on Thursday and Friday since I had a huge cold, which sucked.

At the weekend when I still recovered Emma came over to live with us for a couple of days as a transition since she wanted to change her host family but they hadn’t found anyone yet. It lasted two weeks until they’d finally found a family & we brought her there yesterday; I’m really happy for her & I hope everything will work out and that it’s everything she’s ever wanted! Good luck, Emma!! (:

Also, I finally bought a phone service – the internet could be better but I can finally text unlimitedly! Yay!
On top of that, we went out to eat with some other family members and it was awesome getting to know many more people!  We went to a Texan diner and the food was sooo good. And you could just grab some peanuts, eat ‘em and throw their shell on the floor – hence there were nutshells dispersed everywhere in the restaurant, haha!

And even though the last week has been amazingly stressful, there’ve been some awesome events. For example, Castle’s new season premiered last Monday! OMG; I WAS SO PUMPED. And it was one of the most amazing episodes ever  <3 (Isi, Lisa – ya jealous? Haha )I love how I got so many people hooked on this show; most recently my host sister, haha!
If you wanna get into the show, here’s the trailer for season 4: (Caution: spoiler alert.)

Sorry for fangirling, I just love this show.
Oh, wait – I’m not done yet.

I recently ordered Kelly Clarkson’s new album “STRONGER” which will be released on Oct 24th and OMG I’m the most excited person EVER. This will be like the best album ever. Go pre-order it, if you haven’t already!!!! It’s so great being able to watch her performances on tv in real time!! Even though she was in Germany and in Frankfurt a couple of days ago, which made me pretty frustrated haha. Buuut I got to buy her new single here! YAY ! Look:

And here’s Kacy holding Emma’s & my crap while I freaked out over a cd lol!

Okay, ANYWAYS, back to the set of events.

I got to sit in David’s race car!!! Aaand when he brought me back to our house that evening, he drove me with a quad-bike thingy! (I have no idea how to call it in English, sorry haha!)

Here’s me in the car:

And David:

Within the last days we also went shopping – which was awesomeeee! I found some pretty cool shirts for quite a good deal!

And THIS is one of my fave stores:

Plus, it was Kacy’s Birthday last Wednesday! We had a smaaall get-together and ate cake, which was fun.

And this is the result of Kacy & me staying up late talking:

Haha, I looooove that gangster picture! :D

Also, we all went to the fair on Tuesday and Friday! On Tuesday Kim, a friend of hers, Kacy & I went to “´Disney On Ice – Toy Story 3” where we got this amazing, green, monster hat! I loved it!!! And afterwards we rode a rollercoaster and I tried fried pickles! (they fry pretty much everything at the fair: Oreos, Butter (?!?!), Twinkies..  I’ve even heard of fried BEER. (Really?! Lol.) EVERYTHING. On Friday we focused more on the buildings & they really had some cool stuff! But everything was so expensive L ..So I ended up just buying food, haha! OMG, but Emma and I almost tried dog food, HAHAHA. (Luckily we noticed it was for dogs before we reached out to grab a free piece)

It was the first time I’ve ever tried chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick (Sounds brackish, but it was DELICIOUS.)

This is me wearing the most adorable bear hat at the fair:

On Friday it was homecoming at my school which was really interesting since I’d never seen it before! After the assembly there was a parade – they went all the way through Moore and spread candy. It was fun and everyone looked so precious in their dresses!

Yesterday after we dropped Emma off we went to a store called “Old Navy” which was marvelous. In the evening I met up with two of my friends, Alona & Allysa (they’re awesome) and we went to watch “I don’t know how she does it” at Warren’s (that’s a huge movie theatre)
Afterwards we went to a sushi place & I ate sushi for the first time – I really liked it!!! I had a blast with y’all!

The three of us in front of Warren’s.

Inside the building.

Tonight Desperate Housewives new season will premiere and I can’t wait!!
Aaaand just 13 more days until the Sugarland concert – WOOOOOOO !!!!!

Anyways, I’m gonna stop now – I know, I talk waaaaaay to much. Gotcha ;)

Still – I TRY to update this as soon as possible!
And I hope everyone over there’s doing well! Have a great day y’all!

Oklahoma, babyy!

Howdy & hello!

I know I should’ve updated this a long time ago, but as y’all can imagine being abroad is hugely busy. However, I’ll just start back off from where I stopped last time.

When my plane was called I got on the plane, even found another guy who was nice to talk to, and then was on my way to Oklahoma. The plane was really small (Just 3 seats in a row) but it was okay. While sitting in the plane it was pretty uncomfy, I was tired and also really excited & insecure. I hoped everything would go well concerning finding and meeting my host family. After a ride of almost 4 hours, I got off the plane and immediately felt the heat of Oklahoma, hahaha. It was HOT. I said goodbye to the guy I’d met earlier and headed to the baggage claim. I took one of the escalators and when I was about to get off I saw my host family waiting there behind a bunch of other people. I really recognized them immediately, which was good. A huge smile appeared on my face and I hurried straight to them, hugging everyone. They’d even brought me balloons and a welcome sign which was the cutest thing EVER! It made me so happy!

This is me and my host mom & dad:

My host sister Kacy & me:

Papaw & Meme:

It was so awesome! After having gotten my baggage we went to the car, got my stuff in and drove to “Chalinos”, a Mexican restaurant. Since I’ve never been to a Mexican place before, I was pretty excited! Anyways, we got there and everybody was being so friendly already. We had a great time eating there and I even got to take a picture with a Mexican hat plus guitar! Haha! About everybody was looking at us, but we didn’t care. And it was so fun. Here’s my host sister & me (with a giant Mexican Sombrero) at that restaurant:

Yeah I know we’re crazy ha!

Then we drove home & I got to see my new home for the first time. And I can only say: it’s amazing!!! I loved it from the first second and when I entered my room I already felt like home. Really, I just love it! Here are a few pics:

I was pretty tired that evening so after having settled down a little I just went to bed.

The next morning I woke up pretty early so I unpacked all of my things and tried to store them anywhere in my room. Later in the morning I joined my host sister at work (she works at a dance studio). And since they were just moving we helped transporting things and sorting them out. There I already got to know some really cool people!

Having finished “work” Kacy & I drove back to our house and when my host mom & dad arrived shortly after, too, we immediately went to Pawpaw’s & Meme’s house (which is about 1 minute away from ours) since it was Pawpaw’s birthday. There we met up with the whole family – my host aunts, cousins, all of ‘em. It was great getting to know everyone and we had an awesome dinner! (Hot Dogs, Burgers, salads; and then brownie-fudge cake with vanilla ice cream and cheese cake with strawberries. = AMAZING.)

Eventually we just ended up chillin’ on the floor, watching tv and talking. And oh, sweet tea is delicious, omg.

Throughout the week I had some really cool experiences, too. For example my first visit at Walmart! It was truly extraordinaire, since we went there at like 12 in the night, haha. We wanted to go there before Emma would arrive and her flight was delayed to 1am, so we just went there right before we went to the airport. And let me tell you something about Walmart: It truly has EVERYTHING (everything) and you won’t be able to spend less than one hour in there.

Anyhow, after that we were heading to the airport to pick Meme’s student up. (Meme just recently decided on getting an exchange student, too, so.. Her name is Emma and she’s from Norway. & she’s pretty cool!)

Waiting sleepily on her plane to arrive, Kacy and I took some ‘it’s-freakin-1-in-the-night-and-I’m-so-tired-and-I-want-food-pictures.’ There you go:

Yeah I know. We really were bored, tired and hungry. =desperate.

After some more minutes of waiting in despair Emma finally arrived! Look:

The following days we also drove to my new school, “Moore High School”, actually we went there twice. With “we” I meant Meme, Emma, David, Kacy & I.

We enrolled Emma & me and then Kacy and I randomly walked around in school and tried to find my class rooms. Here’s my schedule; in America each day looks like this:

1.       Drama

2.       French

3.       American Studies

4.       Biology

-          Break     -

5.       Algebra

6.       English

Another memorable day was my first school day.

I had to get up at like 5:45am (OMG, EARLY) and after I’d got ready, David drove Emma and me to the bus stop close to our house.

We introduced to some other kids at our bus stop and did chit-chat until the bus arrived. And let me tell you something about ‘bumpy-bus’ (that’s how Emma & I named it): it is.. AWFUL. Truly awful. The first ride in the morning was bad, but after having rode it for a couple of days already, the mornings are comfortable in comparison to the afternoons. In the morning it’s just bumpy and jumpy and long – it takes us 1 hour (!!!!) to get to school – but in the afternoon it is like 120° in there.

Then I arrived at school, we tried to open our lockers once more (and just rarely succeeded) and then each headed to their classes.

The day pretty much consisted of me running around, desperate not to be too late for a class and find the class room (or opening my locker). My classes were good, though; all of my teachers are SO nice. The funny thing is that in America, every teacher has their own classroom they can create however they want to. Almost every teacher’s got a pc in their room and pictures of their family. At one point my American Studies teacher (she is hilarious, but that tough-hilarious-kickin’ butt-kinda type) walked around barefoot! Lol!!

But the bad thing is that in the class rooms, especially in my French and American Studies class room, it is FREEZING. Like seriously FREEZING. About 40-50° ! So it’s of no use that it’s 105° outside, you always have to come in something warm. Even jeans are not enough, for me, at least. And then after freezing to death you get on the bus again, where everyone’s screaming, everyones jumping (because of the bumpy bus ride) and where it’s 140°. And this you gotta bear for ONE HOUR.

So as you can tell, I was pretty exhausted after the first school day. The thing that stressed me the most was that I didn’t know the school at all so I was always running and looking around and in the end physically and mentally exhausted. That was about the only day here when I wasn’t feeling that well.

But it got better and already on the second day school was fun. We met some awesome people during break with whom we had lunch, and we were even able to open our lockers. (At least we figured out how to open mine, haha.)

So school’s already begun to routine-in (is that a word? Lol) and except for the fact that the class rooms are still freeeeeeezing, it’s been kinda fun. I was even invited to go to Moorewars (famous football game next Friday) !

Other than that I went to some awesome places such as: Braum’s, Taco Bell, Snow Cones, Starbucks (and I got one for FREE! :O) and so on. Last Sunday we went to church and it was such an amazing experience! It’s so different from the german church – first off, it’s a whole, huge building and they’ve got everything: a kitchen room, a church room, a room for kids etc. In the beginning a group of people sang (with microphones etc) and a huge screen showed the lyrics of the song so you could sing along. Then a vicar talked for like 30 minutes and then there was another song. After that we went to Sunday School (which was taking place at another room in the building) since Kim, my host mom, teaches there with other people. We were divided into groups and it was awesome talking with everyone! Then we headed to David’s mom (one of my host aunts and my host cousin live there, too) because she made a German lunch for us! She cooked “Braten mit Spätzle und Rotkraut” :D And it tasted awesome!

Having spent quite a bit over there we drove to several stores and then to my other host aunt where we spend another 2 hours. They’ve got such a biiig, biiiiiig house with a pool, a gym, a movie room, a work-out room.. everything! It was overwhelming, really! But so beautiful.

Other than that I’ve enjoyed watching Castle with everyone – since pretty many people are Castle fans over here; my host mom likes ‘em too!  - and I’ve already had some awesome & hilarious evenings with my host sister (with whom I get along really well, too; we’re so alike.)

For example at one point when she came home from work I showed her “Memphis”, a dance I learned when I was in dance class, and we just started dancing and hopping around in the kitchen. When my host mom then came back from Zumba, she wanted to be taught how to dance Memphis, too, so the three of us eventually ended up jumping around in our living room, which was amazing haha! Then she told me that they’d danced to a german song called ‘shake your bacon’ (Schüttel deinen Speck by Peter Fox) and then I translated the name for her & told her I knew the song. They immediately – of course – wanted to know how to pronounce and say it so I taught them how to say it in german. And omg – I’ve had the best time ever. We were so cracked up we almost cried. I even had to sit down because I was laughing so hard and when I sat right NEXT to the couch and fell on the ground we were laughing even harder. This was such a hilarious evening & I just had a blast!

Throughout the week I also skyped with my mom and a few other people and I really enjoyed it. I’m not really homesick (yet) though, since it is just so awesome here. But I would never even dare to say I wanna go back home! Of course I would for example have my best friend over here so we could have fun together, or my mom so she could meet all of the awesome people over there, but it’s not that I’m sad because I’m not home. (Am I weird? Probably. Sorry, guys, but it’s just been my dream I guess.)

Last Saturday we had an orientation meeting at my International Coordinator’s house which was okay but there was nothing new actually. Then Pawpaw, Meme, Emma & my host family (except for Kacy; she’d left yesterday to go to Texas where her boyfriend lives) went to a steak place for lunch and after that we parted and Kim, David & I headed to.. guess what – TEXAS!! Logan (Kacy’s boyfriend) had an important race last night so we just decided to go there! OMG! (As you may know) I’ve ALWAYS wanted to go to Texas since it’s my fave state and aah! I was so excited!!! The race was in Amarillo and it took us about 3-4 hours to get there. Texas is so beautiful. There were wide open spaces and so much land – the sight was so precious.

Concerning the race: It was so exciting. I’d never been to such kind of a race before and I really enjoyed it! Even though it was pretty dirty and dusty I liked the atmosphere and it was awesome watching the cars race, especially since we actually knew someone that was racing. I think Logan did great although bad luck was kinda chasing him last night somehow. When the race was over we all met at the truck and talked, called the “socializing part”, haha! I had a blast meeting new people and hearing some cool (chicken) stories. Kacy & I took a picture of us at the cars, I will include it in my next post. But here are some general race pictures:

one word: beautiful!

At about 1 o’clock in the night we all headed home, quickly stopped by McDonalds and finally arrived at Logan’s at 2:30am. I was really tired and after Kacy set up the couch for the two of us we all went to bed and fell asleep in a rush.

The next morning we all got up pretty early and then we got in Logan’s truck. He showed us all of his land and we’d been driving around for about 1 hour. His land is absolutely gorgeous and precious, here are some of the things we saw:

Peanuts :D

Logan, Kacy & me

a cotton flower!

But it was pretty exhausting walking around outside since it’s like 105°.

When we came back my host parents & I said goodbye to Kacy & Logan and drove back home; again a 4 hour drive.

On our drive home we made many stops – at a restaurant, some grocery stores (we also went to Aldi!!!) and eventually at the guitar center where I FINALLY bought a new guitar! YAAAY excited!!! It sounds so awesome. <3

And that’s pretty much about it. School today was pretty fun; I scored 100% in my English test, yay!

Alrighty kids, I’m gonna leave you with that for now.

Have a great week y’all! I miss everyone out there ;) But it’s so amazing here <3 bahaha! Sorry.

Byee xo

P.S. Same like last time about the mistakes (I wrote this while we were driving, nuh-huh.)
